Support us

Wheels for Wellbeing finances its projects through a mix of grants, contracts and individual donations.  The credit crunch and recession have made getting support from charitable trusts and the statutory sector even more difficult for us so we are more reliant than ever on individuals and companies supporting us. This page tells you how you can support us but if you want to see who’s already been helping, have a look at Our Supporters

How you can support us

Although some services are specifically provided as the result of a contract, others, such as Cycling for All and Bikes in the Park, are reliant on us generating funds to keep them going. Although we have support from a range of funders we cannot rely on them.  Supporting Wheels for Wellbeing gives an indication of some of the things we need to pay for such as new cycles, session costs or repairs and maintenance. We also need to pay for the coordination of the projects we run..

Sponsored events

Would you like to take part in a sponsored event on our behalf? There are many organised events happening throughout the year including bike rides and walks. People so far have completed an Ironman competition in Nice in 40 degrees, cycled up Mt Ventoux (a really tough leg of the Tour de France) or Dipped in the Brockwell Park Lido when the ice had to broken first. If you are less activity minded, perhaps you could be sponsored to do something less strenuous but equally challenging for you?

Whatever you choose to do, to make it easier for you we have set up a Justgiving site so you can create your own event page and link to us. You can then email potential sponsors and give a link to your page. It definitely takes the hassle out of collecting sponsor money. It also enables people to sponsor you in a tax efficient way.

If you’d like to do this on our behalf please give us a call to see how we can support you doing this.

Make a donation

If taking part in a sponsored activity is not for you, why not make a donation instead? You can use our Justgiving site to do this online.

If you’d prefer, you can send us a cheque made payable to “Wheels for Wellbeing”. If you’d like to make this a tax efficient donation - for basic rate taxpayers, for every £1 you donate we receive £1.28 - then download our Tax Efficient Giving Donation Form and send it in with your cheque. Here’s our address.

Payroll giving

The UK has a simple, efficient and flexible scheme which allows taxpayers to donate to a charity of their choice by a direct deduction from their pay. All donations given in this way mean we benefit even more as the tax you would pay is paid to us instead. For a basic rate tax payer, every £1 you donate is worth £1.28 to us. If you’d like to help us in this way, ask your employer about this scheme.

Give us a call if you’d like to find out more about this or need some help.
