Volunteering

Wheels for Wellbeing is a social inclusion project. We are keen to give people, disabled or not, opportunities to be actively involved in what we do.

Roles we currently have available include in the office, for experienced people:

  • fundraising from corporates
  • promotion eg keeping our profile alive in the press and online

and at sessions, where little or no experience is required,:
  • cycle session worker (but you will need be a competent enthusiastic cyclist)
  • setting up and closing down
  • signing in participants
  • refreshments

and for our outreach work, for people with a range of experience,

  • being one of our ambassadors, promoting what we do at various community events
  • van drivers who can drive our cycles to taster sessions.

For all the office based roles we are looking for people with relevant skills and experience who are proficient in the use of Office and the internet. For the Cycle Session Worker you will need to be a keen competent cyclist willing to qualify as a Cycle Instructor ( we may be able to help you with this). To be a van driver you will need to have a clean licence.

For all the roles we are looking for honest, reliable people who want to help more people enjoy cycling. Appropriate training will be provided.

For office roles we are looking for a minimum commitment of 1 day a week for 6 months and ideally 2, especially for less experienced people. For session roles we are looking for a commitment of at least 2 sessions a month.
